Pune-based tax information portal Taxsutra, has raised Rs 2.5 Cr. in a fresh round of funding from existing investors V Balakrishnan and T V Mohandas Pai. Also, former tax head at IT firm Wipro Ltd P V Srinivasan also participated in this round of funding, reported VCC.

Founded in 2010 by Giri, Ameya Kunte and Arun Anant, Taxsutra provides real-time, up-to-date news and case law analysis on Income Tax from ITAT, and the High Courts and Supreme Court.

Besides, the startup also tracks litigations, developments in Income Tax department, CBDT and Finance Ministry, with a view to keep tax professionals abreast of the latest trends therein.

The startup currently has over 3,000 paid subscriptions. “The Taxsutra team has utilised their domain experience to build a deeply valuable repository of highly relevant content and expert analysis, and are now demonstrating the data network effects that arise out of a well-executed model in this space,” said Pai.

Other players in this segment include ClearTax, Hello Tax, TaxSmile, TaxSpanner and HRBlock.
