Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has announced a new Jio Prime offer which will be starting from April 1, after the end of Jio’s Happy New Year offer on March 31, 2017, reported IE.

The new offer is aimed at the initial customers of the Jio. It is almost free as these customers will need to pay a one-time charge of Rs 99 to extend the free services for 12 more months.

Also, it is necessary for these customers to subscribe to the Jio’s one-time membership fee to enjoy the services. The membership can be activated through the My Jio app or by visiting any Jio-supported store.

As of now, Jio service has crossed 100 Mn customers in 170 days. “This is an achievement of India and Indians. This is an unprecedented level of acceptance for any technology company anywhere,” said Ambani.

He further added that, Jio customers had consumed over 100 crore GB of data in January 2017, which is more than 3.3 Cr. GB per day. “India is now the No 1 country in the world for mobile data usage,” he said, adding that Jio users now consume as much data as the entire US.

The used data is mostly through video, also making it one of the largest video networks globally. “In six months we have show India too can use data at par with other nations,” he added.

Ambani also promised to offer world class quantity and quality of data for Indians at competitive prices. The tariff plans will start from April 1 with no hidden charges.
