Xiaomi India recently elevated a Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain as the new Vice President where he would be considering both the responsibilities.
The tweet from Xiaomi India read, “@manukumarjain, congratulations from the entire Xiaomi family on your promotion to Vice President of Xiaomi!” Jain replied to this tweet, “Thank You my phenomenal @xiaomi @XiaomiIndia family! I am so glad I got the opportunity to work with the best team on the planet.” as reported by ET.
Jain comes to the position when the company is showing great success in the Android market. India always was influenced by the Chinese handsets due to its efficiency and low cost. Jain posted a status in his Facebook account with gratitude saying”This further solidifies our plans to work harder to make our Mi Fans Happy. Truly honoured and humbled !”
Xiaomi had a big wave of shock with the resignation of Hugo Barra a Brazilian computer scientist, technology executive and an entrepreneur who joined Xiaomi back in Sept 2013 as a Vice President. Barra who used to work in Google prior to his career on Xiaomi said that ” it’s time to go back”.
Xiaomi saw a great level of success from a startup to a big business under Barra’s leadership.
The development of Jain was led after Barra’s exit. Xiaomi in India has a serious flow more or less considered as a destination of fast growing venue of smartphones,revenue of the company in India for 2016 was $1 billion. It is the 2nd largest market in India and has a market share of 10%. The company largely sells its phone via flash sales in India.
