Chennai and San-Francisco-based Freshdesk has acquired Pipemonk, a Bangalore-based startup that helps companies move data between cloud platforms, for an undisclosed amount. As part of the deal, the entire team of Pipemonk will be joining Freshdesk.
Launched in 2014 by Satya Padmanabham and Ravi Madabhushi, Pipemonk helps small businesses to automate their data flow across cloud business solutions. In simple terms, it helps customers move data easily between cloud applications such as CRM, e-commerce, marketing and help desk services. The interface was designed to be easy enough to use that it doesn’t require IT support. Currently, the startup serves more than 400 clients globally.
At Freshdesk, the Pipemonk team will work on strengthening the integrations between the Freshdesk suite of products, as well as expand third-party integrations for each of the Freshdesk products, which will help in cutting down the need for multiple logins, multiple amounts of data entry, and allowing instant and seamless access to dynamic data across products.

The acquisition of Pipemonk marks Freshdesk’s seventh acquisition since August 2015 when it acquired 1CLICK for an undisclosed sum.
Freshdesk was founded in 2010. It competes with other enterprise companies including Salesforce, Zendesk, Atlassian, and others. The startup has an office in Chennai, India, as well as offices in the Bay Area, London, U.K., Sydney, Australia, and Berlin, Germany.
