Gurgaon-based bus ride aggregator Shuttl has reportedly partnered with Google Maps. This move will help Shuttl’s commuters to find a ride on its platform when searched for public transport between two locations.
This means that next time when a user searches for directions between two points, he/she will be able to see the walking distance to nearest Shuttl bus stop, its schedule and estimated fare.
The feature is live for users in Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) where Shuttl currently operates.
Launched in April 2015 by Amit Singh and Deepanshu Malviya, Shuttl offers economic and comfortable shuttle services to commuters across 50 routes in Delhi NCR. The startup is presently operational in Delhi and NCR.
Speaking on the development, Amit Singh, cofounder of Shuttl said, “Shuttl is changing the way cities commute to work by pioneering seat based mass transit. Surfacing Shuttl rides on Google Maps is a big step towards integrated mobility, making it easier for commuters to plan their trips in real time across multiple modes of transport. This also helps Shuttl to reach a wider audience and serve the city better.”
Shuttl ride option will be available under the public transport tab together with Delhi Metro & Rapid Metro. In December, Shuttl expanded its core service of providing commuting option to office goers, to an inter city travel service called “Shuttl Rentals“, to provide flexible packages to its commuters planning a weekend getaway outside Delhi & NCR.
Besides, Shuttl has also partnered with personal verification agency OnGrid in November to provide Aadhaar-enabled verification for the drivers connected to its platform.
